Community Sheep Farmers

Sheep at one of the Augusta, Wisconsin, farms

Augusta, Wisconsin

This community has some of the most beautiful farms in the state. Windmills spin to deliver freshly pumped water, ice is collected in the winter to provide refrigeration in the summer, massive, draft horses pull plows to work the rich soil. Few electric wires mar the landscape. Black buggies are pulled with well-groomed horses. You’ll see animals everywhere—cows, sheep, goats and chickens being raised in a healthy, natural environment as God intended.

Barefooted boys dressed in suspendered pants, blue button-down shirts, and straw hats help their families with all aspects of the farm and race their horse carts in their spare time. Living a balanced, sustainable life is the norm.
